Upsteer is an order-to-cash automation platform purpose-built for Shopify B2B brands. Their mission is simple: help merchants get paid faster, with more accuracy and stronger customer relationships. By automating manual workflows and improving financial clarity, Upsteer allows lean teams to focus on growth not spreadsheets.

Founded by Calvin, a technical founder wearing both product and go-to-market hats, Upsteer is designed for the next generation of Shopify-native B2B businesses looking to scale efficiently.

The Situation

Breaking into Ecomm isn’t simple. Ecomm owners get hundreds of emails per day regarding order issues, customer inquiries, etc.

Before working with us, Calvin was handling outbound himself. He used tools like Clay and Instantly but ran into constant issues with deliverability and lack of engagement. Messages weren’t getting seen, and demo bookings were nearly nonexistent.

As a solo founder managing both dev and GTM, Calvin needed a way to run outbound without it eating up his entire day. He had tried and failed to make it work alone. He knew the message needed refining and the infrastructure had to be solid.

That’s when he turned to Cymate.

The Solution

Infrastructure

Since we’re sending about 1200-1500 emails a day (30,000+ a month), we need to ensure the right infrastructure is in place.

Given the current state of deliverability, we diversified our setup with multiple services:

  • Mailboxes directly with Google and Outlook

  • Mailboxes from resellers like Zapmail

With 150 mailboxes, each sending 10 emails a day, two months after launching the first campaign, all mailboxes are still at 100% health.


Strategy

From day one, we focused on speed of iteration. Calvin joined bi-weekly syncs, reviewed results, and shared insight from early replies.

We tested different messaging angles, targeting segments of Shopify B2B brands opening up new storefronts. Calvin emphasized the importance of financial accuracy and faster payments this became core to the messaging that finally hit.

We didn’t treat the work as “set and forget.” We worked side-by-side, adjusting copy, refining audiences, and testing frequently.
