Raylu is a startup that empowers private market investors with AI-driven solutions to enhance deal sourcing, diligence, and decision-making. Their platform integrates seamlessly with existing systems, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights, enabling investors to uncover hidden opportunities and outperform the competition.
Founded in 2022 by alumni of Insight Partners, BlackRock, and Harvard, Raylu's mission is to revolutionize private market investing by automating financial workflows with advanced AI, allowing investors to focus on high-value decisions rather than manual tasks.
The Situation
Prior to partnering with us, Raylu had been working with another cold outreach agency under a 4-month contract that delivered no meaningful results, yielding just one meeting over a span of four months.
Ali, one of Raylu’s co-founders, was initially hesitant to engage another partner for cold outreach. At the time, Raylu was still in the early stages, with no clearly defined value proposition and some uncertainty about whether it was the right moment to invest in go-to-market efforts.
However, he decided to give Cymate a try following a strong referral from one of our successful clients.
The Solution
Infrastructure
Since we’re sending about 1300 emails a day (26,000+ emails a month), we need to ensure the right infrastructure is in place.
Given the current state of deliverability, we diversified our setup with multiple services:
Mailboxes directly with Google and Outlook
Mailboxes from resellers like zapmail
Mailreef, an SMTP with a dedicated IP servers
With 130 mailboxes, each sending 10 emails a day, two months after launching the first campaign, all mailboxes are still at 100% health.

Strategy
When we took over Raylu’s cold email campaign, we dedicated several weeks to running targeted experiments, testing different messaging angles to identify a value proposition that resonated.
Given their early-stage position, our focus was on maximizing learning by testing as much as possible during the initial phase of the engagement.
While the results outperformed those of their previous partner, they were still not where we wanted them to be.
